Pantone Future School

Pantone Future School is an after-school day service for children who are developmental disorders and have anxiety from elementary school to high school. It is provided environments that students can step up to be more independent and work in the future by developing and growing their abilities to do what they can.http://pantone-fs.com/

Together with 8 children from Panton Future School, we held 3 days’ workshop on the theme of “Let’s make clothes for your loved ones!”. The loved ones they told me was their mother, idols and pets. The materials for the clothes were processed denim from YutoRi18. Without any rules, they thought about loved ones and created the clothes with their variety of ideas. It turned to be far beyond anything we could be imagined.

I was impressed with kind and warm communications by the staffs and those involved of this project with having fun together and many trials and error. In such an atmosphere everyone cares about the others, 8 wonderful clothes have made. In this relationship not just giving support or getting support, looking for something no answers together with same point of views, I felt an interest in it cannot explain with the words just like “Welfare” or “Art”. For this exhibition, it is recreated the production space and we are planning to show it with imagining their loved one are gathering with their clothes.

I really appreciate and proud of such an opportunity in Kurashiki Bikan historical quarter where has been carefully protected by many people. I would like to express my gratitude for all who involved of this project.
